For anyone who has known me over the last few months will know just how much I've been (re)enjoying Son Lux. Stemming from a chance encounter whilst watching the gritty teen drama Skins back in 2009 I trawled the web in order to find out the name of a song that played on the series. Oh if only Shazam had existed back then. It turned out to be Break from the 2008 debut 'At War With Walls And Mazes'. With his latest release 'Lanterns' consuming my life to an extended degree (sorry to everyone I've forced it upon, music this good is just too good to keep to myself) it's wonderful to see a new EP surface so rapidly. Taking 4 tracks from the album the New York producer/composer has envisaged them in a new light in the most wonderful of ways, including guest vocals from none other than Lorde on Easy (Switch Screens); An earth clattering convulsion of eerie vocals and hotheaded percussion.
