Leaf Erikson - Looking For Signs

Slowly but surely, for those patient enough to wait, good things do eventually come around. Having set up their facebook page some time ago, it wasn't until January this year we saw (or rather heard) Leaf Erikson upload their first official material. Whilst still not entirely knowing too much about the London-based outfit, other than they're the reincarnation of much adored Flashguns, their latest single Looking For Signs shows real promise for what lays ahead. Whether or not their name is a play on the great Icelandic explorer exclaimed to be the first European to land in North America, nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus, the band sure know exactly where they're heading with their confidently sprawled guitar solos and mellifluous rhythms. Meticulous in detail, the band commandeer an unrivalled approach to songwriting with a whole range of musical influence drawing us forever inwards - all before its intrinsic layering slowly builds towards its glistening finale. Looking For Signs truly is a giant stride nearing perfection. Dive right in below.
