Colouring - Everything Has Grown

Following a stark and sudden name change, Colouring returned following a brief absence away with a sound that was so abruptly different to their previous work, no one would we be any the wiser to liken the two groups. Having introduced more electronic elements and expansive qualities, it was far less immediate but gradually began to grow on me as their production eased away from grand pop sensibilities towards a more dance-influenced sound. Here they return to their roots though with a stripped back, emotionally led effort filled with raw and honest lyricism, just the chime of piano keys and a rousing string section to set the mood. "Everything Has Grown' is a reflection on the breakdown of a relationship" explains singer Jack Kenworthy. "When you have found peace with the past and time has healed any pain you once felt, it's about simply hoping they find happiness". Take a listen for yourselves below.
