Following on from last month's excited return with the news of their sixth studio album Oh! The Ocean, out 21st February 2025 via AWAL, and sharing their single Sorry I'm Late, I didn't want to come, The Wombats return today with record's latest cut, Blood On The Hospital Floor. Backed with a James Slater (Sam Fender, CMAT, Jamie T) directed video, the track was first premiered at festivals this summer and sees the band slide in to familiar territory with a forward thinking twist as dazzling guitars and tempo-shifting melodies take hold. Matthew “Murph” Murphy goes on to explain: “The idea behind ‘Blood On The Hospital Floor’ is that things that might seem difficult in life can often have a simple resolution. Things are not always as bad as they first may seem. The analogy of mopping up blood from the hospital floor - cleaning up the mess and keeping going.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
