IS TROPICAL | Live: Clwb Ifor Bach Review

It's always nice to see a band progress over time. Being my third outing to see them live I was kind of familiar with the bands live set up. Synths, Drums, Energy & not forgetting the elusive and trademark bandannas worn over their faces.

This time it felt different though. The band performed a lot tighter. Maybe having a record deal with the greatly appreciated Kitsune label has boosted their confidence on stage. They seem to work a lot better together bouncing off each others vibes. Not that they didn’t before but the whole show was a lot more professional.

It's a shame the same couldn't be said for the Welsh crowd. There never seems to be that 'have a good time' attitude when a Welsh crowd is involved. Now I don't want to slag of Wales as I was born and bread here but I'm sure they would enjoy the music a lot more if they let go instead of standing still all night like statues.

That aside it didn't seem to bother IS TROPICAL who continued to play almost all of their debut album with brilliant vibrant energy. A really great live band well worth checking out if you get the chance.

Don't forget to watch the new video below for the single 'Lies'.
