In conjunction with their latest single Formaldehyde, Editors have joined forces with acclaimed British film director Ben Wheatley to produce a rather odd and heteroclite video for the track. Showing its fare share of 'WTF' moments, what can be gathered (in a rather surreal way with plenty of suspense and horror) is an honest tribute to the great Spaghetti Westerns of yesteryear as the sun beats down over a typical Cowboy town.
Ben had the following to say in regards to the video location and setting:
"We shot on the old sets for Sergio Leones 'Once Upon A Time In The West' in Almeria in Spain. It was quite an experience. The sun is so bright and strong (I've just shot four features in a row in the UK; that kind of thing impresses me!). The mountains look amazing and everywhere you look you feel the vibe of the spaghetti westerns (they actually pipe the Morricone music in on loudspeakers so its impossible not to feel it)."
Formaldehyde is out September 2nd and is taken from Editors fourth studio album The Weight of Your Love.
The band will play the Main Stage at The Leeds Festival on Friday 23rd August and The Reading Festival on Sunday 25th August.
