Fiction | The Apple (For Alan Turing)

It genuinely makes me sad that there's more music in the world than I will ever have enough time to listen to. I'm not entirely sure how Fiction have managed to elude me for so long but it looks like I've got some catching up to do when their music is this good. They released their debut album on cult label Moshi Moshi last year and now return with their latest single to be lifted from its release 'The Apple'. Through exuberant cries and layered percussion comes an ocean of swelling overlapping guitars. As the tides change so does the tracks evolving nature as its jangly skippy nature becomes more expansive and wholesome courtesy of its subtle melodic shifts and characteristics. The Apple serves to be a timely ode to British mathematician Alan Turing.

Release date: March 10th 2014 via Moshi Moshi.

Fiction will play live at the Total Refreshment Centre in Dalston on 8th February.  The gig will be broadcast live in HD at http://tentacleentertainments.net Ticket information can be found here.

Debut album ‘The Big Other’ is out now. iTunes & CD.
