Marika Hackman | Animal Fear
As the release date draws ever nearer for Marika Hackman to unleash her debut album, the intrinsic alt-folk artist returns once more with her enticing new single, Animal Fear. Creating an unmistakable sound for herself, Hackman has continued to carve out a unique pathway in this often misconstrued folk territory, each and every release demonstrating her vastly dynamic skills. Here's no different either with the songstress glistening an enchanting tale over the tracks trundling basslines and percussion. Take a listen above. Animal Fear is taken from Marika Hackman's forthcoming debut album 'We Slept At Last' set for release 16th February 2015 through Dirty Hit Records. Fans purchasing the physical editions will be rewarded with an in-depth art booklet containing a series of poetic and powerful images by Californian-born photographer Glen Erler, inspired by and resonating with the same dark narrative as 'We Slept At Last'.
To coincide with the release Marika will be exhibiting the full collection of photos in Camden’s Cob Gallery on 18th February alongside performing the record in full with her band. Tickets are strictly limited to just 70 and can be purchased from here: http://po.st/WSALGallery
