Not one for sticking with convention, Marika Hackman returns with her latest single Ophelia divulging a gloriously unique sound. Breaking from the traditional folk roots to showcase an experimental blend of softly strummed guitars and plinky reverberated synth notes, Hackman delivers once more on her darkly-tinged narratives to wonderful effect. Take a listen above for yourselves. Ophelia is taken from Marika Hackman's forthcoming debut album 'We Slept At Last' set for release 16th February 2015 through Dirty Hit Records. Fans purchasing the physical editions will be rewarded with an in-depth art booklet containing a series of poetic and powerful images by Californian-born photographer Glen Erler, inspired by and resonating with the same dark narrative as 'We Slept At Last'.
To coincide with the release Marika will be exhibiting the full collection of photos in Camden’s Cob Gallery on 18th February alongside performing the record in full with her band. In addition a full UK tour will follow. You can see the full list of dates below. Tickets will be available from her official site here from 9am Friday 23rd January.
