Years & Years - Shine

Looking back over the past year or so, it's crazy to see how far Years & Years have come. I still remember them tweeting me back when I asked about a future album almost three years ago, a time when they had in the region of only 3000+ twitter followers. Fast forward to a time when their now almost a household name, gaining consistent daytime radio play and proud winners of BBC's Sound of 2015 poll, Years & Years return with their latest single, Shine. Picking up where Worship left off, the trio continue to blend a scintillating blend of luscious pop sensibilities with a futuristic approach to songwriting. With plenty more intrinsic layering and heady vocalism, the London-based outfit almost certainly know where they're heading with another sensational genre hopping masterpiece. “The metaphor of ‘shine’ and ‘shining’ comes from the way somebody can make you feel totally brand-new and special and re-made in the light of their love, but how that can feel incredibly unstable and overwhelming and make you want to destroy yourself,” explains lead singer Olly Alexander on its conception. Take a listen below for yourselves with a list of upcoming tour dates.
