Dahlia - Breathe
Every once in a while a new act will emerge from the masses of emails received with such an awe inspiring debut time will momentarily standstill. And even if it is just for 3 minutes, that step out from your surrounded world can prove to be all the more worthwhile when it's this beautiful. Through its haunting and sparse production built from the ground up by Luke Hester, Lucy Hill lends her chilling vocals to the tracks slowly rising crescendo before you become fully surrounded in its dreamlike emotionally heightened state. "I guess ["Breathe"] is about being torn, and maybe a little torn up," explains Lucy to The FADER. "When somebody is kind of perfect but you know that they’re not in the same place as you. It’s about that moment where you know you should take a step back but obviously you’re not going to.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
