When you normally get a list of an artist's influences, what you'll find upon listening is that it's more often than not just a random selection of musical styles they just so happen to like. Not so much the case here. Rich in Congolese and South African sounds, fed down from his dad's record collection, what Jude Woodhead puts forward in his debut release is nothing short of a mesmeric effort. Classically trained on trumpet and self taught with piano and drums it's no surprise to learn his talents show no bounds as Beautiful Rain reveals its kaleidoscopic layering to maximum effect as you become lost amongst its ever lasting groove.
