Wrong doing. Two words not part of their vocabulary. Yumi Zouma have long established themselves as one of my favourite artists and with each release continually showcasing such a diverse soundscape, it doesn't look like that's going to be changing any time soon. Here they return with Barricade (Matter Of Fact), the second single to be lifted from their muchly anticipated debut record, 'Yoncalla', due out May 27 on Cascine. Drown in its heavenly swirling synths below. Josh from the band explains of the track:
“Barricade was the first song that was really collaborative for us. I remember sitting on the floor in Charlie's apartment playing an unplugged bass, Charlie with an unplugged guitar and Christie humming out melodies. I hadn't worked on a track like that since I was in college. It was never for the spontaneous element (the final version of ‘Barricade’ is a far cry from unplugged guitars and bass) rather, a way to squeeze the best ideas out of us and chop the strongest parts into a track.”
