Get Inuit - Barbiturates
Having first been introduced to Get Inuit way back in '14, featuring them on my now pretty much defunct monthly playlist, the band return with their raucous new single Barbiturates - it makes me think why the hell I've let them slip of my radar again until now. Hugely ramped choruses, high energy guitars, an adrenalin fuelled sound. Just what my Monday ordered to kick-start the week in to action. "I used the subject matter of drug reliance as a metaphor for the inner battle people have when trying to suppress rage, whether it be from a chemical addiction or just stress" explains frontman Jamie Glass. "I felt that the majority of songs I was listening to focused on one emotion and stretched out that feeling over the course of a song. It felt much more human to show inner conflict and mood changes rather than just pretend I’m only ever content, or in love, or depressed. I can be all of those things within the space of a minute". Take a listen below for yourselves along with a list of upcoming live dates.
