Minke - Too Late

Pop music. A genre that can be so false and superficial on times, barely touching the surface of emotion. In a scene that's over-saturated with a swathe of emulation, the only way to stay afloat is to break the mould, and that's something Minke does so incredibly well. Her music's everything you'd expect, and a whole lot more, effortlessly demonstrated on previous cuts Maybe 25 and Gold Angel. Her latest, Too Late, is essentially a track about the break down of a relationship, something that's played out by millions, and yet never been captured this vividly. Through soaring pop sensibilities and heart-raising rhythms, her deeply personal exhaustion is brought to light in fraught detail, all neatly packed up in to a euphoric pop-banger. "How can I love you. It's too fucking late, We can't do this any more" is about as real and awakening as it gets.
