Morning Midnight - Ancoats Junction
Glasgow-based duo Morning Midnight have today shared their gorgeous debut single Ancoats Junction. An unlikely pairing given their backgrounds, Jordan Scott cites Frightened Rabbit and John Martyn as influences, while Jess Pascale’s production comes from a more electronic/Hip Hop background, yet it's one that works so well. "Ancoats Junction is about the hopelessness of trying to fix a failing relationship and knowing when to finally admit defeat" the band explain. "When I look back now it still makes me sad, but ultimately it was the beginning of everything we've done since and for that I'm thankful. For all intents and purposes this song is about something coming to an end, so naturally it felt like the best place for us to begin." Take a listen for yourselves below as its fluttered backdrop casts soothing pastel textures over Scott's mournful lyrics.
