The Districts - Cheap Regrets

With the announcement of their new album "You Know I'm Not Going Anywhere", out March 13, 2020 via Fat Possum, The Districts have today unveiled their latest single Cheap Regrets. Switching crashing percussion for a pivotal dance-inspired melody the track takes on a brand new dynamic as we continue to reveal brand new sounds in the band's line-up. "Cheap Regrets’ is some late capitalist nihilism channelled into a Districts dance party. It's about the extremes of American culture constantly reinforcing the self," explains singer/guitarist Rob Grote of the kinetic track. "The mirror reconfirms you. It's all iPhone, selfies, and mirrors. Sell yourself baby. The consumer gets consumed. I wanted people to dance together to a song about alienation to find some collective transcendence in that". Listen for yourselves below.
