Over the weekend saw blog favourite Day Wave return with word of a brand new EP entitled 'Crush, due for release April 24th 2020. With his signature hazy sound, the accompanying single Potions delivers a fragrant glimpse of nostalgia as Jackson Phillips once more delivers on catchy guitar melodies and raw lyrics that come with a poignant twist. "I'm really just trying to make sense of things for myself with this EP," he explains. "It’s easy to feel isolated, like your thoughts don’t matter or that you’ll never be good enough, but writing these songs was my way of trying to rid myself of those toxic ideas and open myself up to a better way of living. It was my way of trying to figure out who I really was". Speaking about the new single he goes on to say: "“Potions” is about being drawn towards the wrong things in life. It can be hard to understand why we go towards toxic things or people, with this song I was just trying to make sense of it for myself". Take a listen for yourselves below.
