Every so often, a band comes along to remind me of all the reasons why I fell in love with the discovery of new music. There's also something to be said when it's found organically too, with no PR spiel force-fed down my throat. Case-in-point, the emergence of Chillburn-based outfit Pynch following a recommended listen on Spotify. The band recently shared their new single Somebody Else that goes some way to break the traditions of modern day life with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics and longing sense of escapism. Built on a hotbed of thumping percussion and nostalgic 8-bit synth melodies comes a gorgeously layered, guitar rolling jam that continues to get richer upon each listen. It's certainly been a long time since I've played a single back to back to this extent before, and I love it all the more for it.
