Returning with their brand new single ahead of the weekend, The Ramona Flowers unveiled a funky new sound as danceable guitars spearhead the track's soaring choruses and towering pop sensibilities. True to its namesake, California showcases the band in their sun-kissed nuanced state and continues on from their recent Nile Rodgers featuring single Up All Night. Lead vocalist Steve Bird describes the track in more detail: “California is a song about self-development, making a positive change to be a better version of you, for yourself and others. It’s about making a family and being an eternal optimist in the face of adversity”. On a deeper level Steve continues, “This song is also about the very real worry of conceiving a child and the impact of that as a man if you can’t deliver that for the person you love”. Take a listen for yourselves below.
