Taken from her forthcoming third album, The Answer is Always Yes, released May 19th on Liberation, Alex Lahey has today unveiled the record's latest cut The Sky Is Melting. Written after a desert venture following the consumption of too many edibles, the track's soaring pop sensibilities and towering crescendos deliver a powerful pop masterclass led by its catchy melodies and harmonising vocal choruses. Seaking on the genesis of 'The Sky is Melting', Lahey explains: "I went to the desert and did a bunch of edibles and a wrote a song about it. Definitely not the first person in the world to do it. But maybe it’s the first song to reference both Michael Bolton and an unnamed verified Air BnB host in the same verse." Take a listen for yourselves below.
