Matthew “Murph” Murphy, guitarist and lead singer of platinum-selling indie outfit The Wombats has today returned with his solo project Love Fame Tragedy. Unveiling his latest single, Slipping Away sees him enter a new light through scintillating synth melodies and towering pop choruses. Speaking about the single Murph says “‘Slipping Away’ is loosely based on what it's like to be with someone after the honeymoon period has ended. Feeling like a veil has been lifted and you both see each other in the cold light of day, for the first time. It's about formulating a plan to deal with other people's imperfections as well as your own.” Take a listen for yourselves below with the track's official video directed by Spencer Ford (Jawny / spill tab / Gus Dapperton).
Slipping Away is taken from Love Fame Tragedy's second album 'Life Is A Killer' which is said to be Murph’s truest album to date written through a period of balancing life as a father of two and touring the world with The Wombats. The new album will be released January 19th 2024.
