As i get back in to the habit of sourcing new music, a trip home from the gym, kicking it to the New Year's Resolution put me in the prime position of catching the end of MOULD's Birdsong on BBC 6 Music on the car's radio. The Bristol based outfit unveiled their angsty 2 minute number at the tail end of last year and it's a sure fire way to dust off the cobwebs in to 2024. Produced by Jon Mcmullen (Wet Leg, Michael Kiwanuka), frontman and guitarist Joe Sherrin said, “‘Birdsong’ was the first song we made together. The song is about how trying to be optimistic all the time is draining. Someone told me I have a positive demeanour and always try to see the good, but this song is about the personal cost of that.” Take a listen for yourselves below.
